I’ve been enjoying a healthy balance of entry-level raiding, heroic 5-mans, and some pvp.
Patch 3.1 has been a huge improvement to healing priests across the board. AOE healing got buffed with the ability of Prayer of Healing to be used on any party. And PvP has been much more enjoyable. I feel like I’m able to survive longer, which a lot can be attributed to Penance being cast-able on ourselves. I haven’t bothered with the glyph of Pain Supression, which allows us to use PS while we’re stunned, but I can imagine it works wonders against stun-happy rogues and druids.
Right now I’m spec’ed for Disc and Holy PvE healing. I don’t sign up for many raids with my guild, but when I do I’m able to optimally fill-in as a tank healer or party healer. To be honest, I think I’m leaning more towards Disc as my favorite spec. There’s something about preventing damage that I can’t get enough of. So my 5-man spec is always disc. The only thing I miss is Guardian Spirit, but if the party (including myself) is doing our jobs then I shouldn’t need it.
Lately I’ve felt like the game is passing me by, progression-wise. I don’t care for, or have much time to dedicate to raiding, so I enjoy heroics and a quick battleground or two. The problem is that I’m just about out of upgrades when it comes to crafted/heroic/badge gear. And Blizzard has stated that it doesn’t want to require over-geared players to grind away at heroics for gear that matches top-end raiding loot, which I understand.
I wish there was a compromise.
