OK, I’m about 5 Guinesses deep, so forgive my brazenness, but this H-UK run makes me wish I had gone to bed when I had the opportunity. Since I’m in no shape to attempt to construct sentences, I’ll put it in list order:
- I PUGed the group, because I need badges for the heirloom healing mace. 9 more badges to go.
- I was invited and summoned, which is a great start.
- The tank is a DK with 21k health, which negates said great start
- The stupid shaman is in a rush. Before every pull she makes sure to chatter “Go go!” I asked her if she happened to be in labor. She didn’t respond.
- The tank died once because the shaman loves to pull aggro to show how awesome she is with her 1.7k dps.
- The tank died again because I was in the middle of commenting on how it’s weird that a Super Healing Potion would drop from an 80 heroic instead of a Runic Healing Potion. This was a dumb move on my part. Thankfully, we didn’t wipe.
- The shaman is now commenting on how badass she’s doing by posting the damage meter and mentioning how she’d do even better if she didn’t have her healing glyphs equipped. I think I won’t heal her again.
- This Guiness is going down smooth.
- The tank left the group to “pick up his wife” right before the second boss. So I’m writing this post as we wait for him to get back.
- The shaman and someone else are “LOL” emoting every 4 seconds. I want to kill myself.
PUG life.
Update: The group wound up being nice. Although it was a long run, most of them seemed like good people that I’d group with again.

Hey glad things worked out!
Yesterday, I sent your lowbie shammie some enchants. I had a chance to test out my ‘leet tanking skills’ in Deadmines last evening. A Druid buddy healed me and I tanked the whole thing. It definitely wasn’t a roflstomp run since I tanked the mobs. It was a great chance for me to play around with the different tanking tools that I have. The mobs stayed on me the entire time. Of course since I was the one doing the damage it took a while but it was fun, and I’ve got a rotation that I’ll use for lowbie instances too.
That’s awesome! I’m sorry I missed it. We’ll have to go together maybe tonight or tomorrow, if you’re available.
I need to do one more heroic for my heirloom healing mace for the shaman. I’m going to transfer my warrior to your server so that I have some gold, and two heirloom items.
I’ll be around a little tonight. I have an Old School guild run this evening around 7:00 server time but I can be on Aiyanna afterwards. The guild leader should be on too, so will follow up with him.
My lowbie protection warrior is 19 at the moment. There has been lots of solo activity I went to Darkshore and tanked multiple mobs with the numerous warrior abilities available.
Tomorrow evening should be fine if you want to hook up then. I was on My Warlock, Deimonia, last evening. I ran Heroic Violet Hold with guildies. They needed one more DPS. I want to purchase the heirloom tanking shoulders for Aiyanna and perhaps a trinket too.
I have to say, there’s a definite disjunction between the start of this post and the end … how exactly much did you drink between starting it and finishing
Sorry, I’m just being silly – I’m glad you nightmare PUG turned up okay in the end.
Ha! You’re right. Here’s the thing, the run itself was miserable. H-UK shouldn’t take 3 hours. In the beginning there was an obnoxious party member in the group who got under my skin, but wound up leaving in the middle of the run. The second half was still an eternity, but the people were nice and I kind of felt bad for trashing the party.
This one made me laugh out loud. Love your dry humour!
