It's funny how each server is a different experience. The viscous oil quest wasn't bad at all for me. Honestly, it would get so competitive at times, people going after entire rooms just to get one or two of the things. Although Thrusting Hodir's Spear is one of the more enjoyable dailies, in my opinion. I always had fun with it, and still sometimes nip over for the 16g even though I'm exalted with SoH.
