I’m with you on having our own things that set us apart but I would not be surprised if eventually priests get that, based on the ‘bring the player not the class’ mentality. I love being unique, and Blizzard has started to remove some of that from certain classes and I don’t like it at all.

You know, now that you mention it, healing as holy would have been a lot easier in that situation. I, too, spent talent points into improving Renew and also used the glyph with my Holy spec. Then, there’s the fact that Holy has numerous talents that increase the effectiveness of our group heals.

I spent the entire run in my regular, 5-man Disc spec and should have considered switching specs.

I’m torn between whether I’d want Blizzard to give us a spell to cleanse poison. Sure, it would make some situations much easier, but I like having each healing class being better (and worse) depending on the fight. Of course it wouldn’t make much sense to design fights that simply can’t be won with a certain type of healer, but I’m perfectly fine with working hard on a particular boss because he has a nasty poison, while my holy paladin friend has a difficult time healing another boss because that boss does a nasty AoE.

I’m going to write a post on the subject but to sum it up, I enjoy that each healing class has tools that are specific to them. It keeps the healing classes and styles separate. I’d hate for paladins to get a spell called “Links of Light” which is exactly like a chain heal, or for priests to get “Holy Refill” which is just another name for Innervate.

Yes, that last boss is a pain for sure. When I’ve been in there I usually dot everyone with Renew, sunk points in the regular talent and Improved renew so that helped out. I also have the lightwell. I don’t expect melee to use it but ranged casters yeah if I’m unable to heal click on it. Thus far, following that strategy has helped out tremendously.

I’m wondering if Blizz will give priests the ability to cleanse poisons? druids can now do regular Rez’s outside of Battle res, so who knows…
